The issue of repair and rehabilitation of books has never been taken very seriously even in today's modern technology binding. Menders and binders do not bother about durability of binding. They use int\ferior quality of preservative materials and adhensives. Repair and rehabilitation of a document in orginal format is more durable and useful than difitization of an antique docment/book, moreover physical conservation is essential before digitization.

This book is expected to be considered as a text book as well as workshop manual where large nu,ber of diagrams and illustration are incorporated to explain and illustrate the procedure of repair and rehabilitation of books, which will help craftmen, conservation trainees and library personnel in careful preservation and conservation techniques.
